2025 marks a significant development in the racing activities of the Kawasaki Racing Team with the first direct involvement in the FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship for two decades. French teenager Mathis Valin has joined Kawasaki's official factory team after a sensational debut year on KX250 machinery last season when the eighteen-year-old swept majestically to the FIM European EMX250 title with the Bud Racing Kawasaki satellite team.
The talented youngster had already displayed skill, determination and resilience throughout his youth career, claiming his first national title in the Minivert category at the age of eleven. He has added more French titles annually at each stage of development since 2021 together with a World Junior title two years ago and the European title last term. Mathis also proved his versatility with success at his first attempt in the Junior category of the world-famous Enduro du Touquet aboard a KX250. Working closely in the non racing season with the Kawasaki Racing Team MX2, and with extensive technical support from Kawasaki engineers in Japan, Mathis can look forward with confidence to his rookie season of MX2 GP racing.
